Cedar Lake Speedway is excited to announce the 2013 event schedule which is loaded with special events along with local NASCAR racing talent. 2013 marks the 55th year of racing at the western Wisconsin facility. Some of the key changes this year include a track surface facelift, Masters format change, WoO of Outlaw Sprint Car event date change and Nationals preliminary night sanctioning. Fans & drivers will be greeted in April with a redesigned turns 3 & 4 along with a surface facelift. The plateau on the top of turns 3 & 4 has been removed leaving a consistent angle from the bottom to the top of the track. Along with the changes to the turns several thousand yards of new clay has been applied to the entire track. Cedar Lake Speedway expects these investments into the track to deliver a more consistent weekly race surface for our drivers and exciting side-by-side action our fans expect.

2013 marks the 4th year of NASCAR sanctioning at Cedar Lake Speedway and with that comes a slight change to our weekly program. Every event which includes our local racers will be NASCAR sanctioned in 2013 except the Legendary 100 in September. This change gives our local drivers every opportunity to earn valuable NASCAR & track points to take advantage of all the NASCAR benefits including the largest point fund in the area & participant insurance. Similar to last year every driver will need a NASCAR license to compete at Cedar Lake Speedway weekly. NASCAR recently released plans to offer a temporary license for drivers that don’t race a NASCAR track weekly. Details on NASCAR temporary licensing will be released soon.

The 2013 season kicks off Thursday, April 4th with open practice for drivers looking to get a few laps in before a double-header Friday and Saturday featuring NASCAR Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Mid-Mods & Hornets. NASCAR racing for all 5 classes is on tap the next two Saturdays. Cedar Lake’s first sprint car special event on April 27th features the UMSS 360 Sprints along with NASCAR Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks & Hornets.

May’s scheduled events include weekly NASCAR Racing on the 4th & 18th along with one of the track’s most exciting nights, School Bus Race Night. This event has grown into one of the area’s must see event as local schools support their bus as they battle other area schools for the title of fastest bus around. This unique racing experience has full sized buses decorated in each school’s colors racing full speed around the track. Fans can expect a little banging & bashing, a few rollovers and some great NASCAR racing that night with Mid-Mods, Hornets & Vintage race cars. Looking for a cheap date? Then don’t forget to make it to the track on Saturday May 25th as grandstand admission is totally FREE! Help us pack the track by bringing your friends, family & co-workers out for a night of racing. Pack the track night is a great opportunity to introduce someone new to our sport and it won’t cost you a dime to get in.
