Cedar Lake Speedway is proud to announce that they have officially purchased the indoor motorsports complex located adjacent to the outdoor Speedway. The indoor building was formally known as Sandbox Arena and focused primarily on indoor motocross.

Cedar Lake Management is still finalizing long-term plans for the facility.  For the 2012-2013 winter season the building will re-open 2 days after Christmas under the name of Cedar Lake Arena and will host numerous motocross events until mid-February including a 4 race motocross series with races every other Saturday.

Then, the jumps will be flattened and the facility will host the first ever Dirty Dash Mud Run with over 12 HUGE obstacles that will challenge the toughest competitors out there.  This event will be similar to the Warrior Dash and Tough Mudder events where anyone can challenge themselves to complete the run and obstacle course.  Watch for more details about this event, but it will be one you will want to participate in.

After numerous improvements to the facility including the addition of bleachers and a state of the art $100,000 air ventilation system, the very next weekend will feature an indoor tractor and truck pull sure to be entertaining to all.  The dirt floor will then be transformed to an oval race track as it was during the facility’s inaugural year and will kick off 3 HUGE car race events.

The first will be the Winter Midget Madness show featuring he Badger Midget series on March 8 – 10.  Then, the following weekend (March 15-17) will bring the first ever Winter Sprint Showdown featuring Micro Sprint cars.  We are expecting over 100 competitors and if you haven’t seen them race, you don’t want to miss it.

We kick off the 2013 outdoor race season with opener on April 5 & 6.  Make plans to be at Cedar Lake as you are guaranteed to see racing.  If the weather is good we will have racing inside AND outside that weekend.  If the weather does not cooperate we will still be racing indoors!  Following opener, racing will take place each and every Saturday afternoon before the big cars race outside.  We are considering go carts, quarter midgets, slingshots, and micro sprints as potential classes.

Stay tuned for details.  Finally, parties after the evening races in the beautiful Cedar Lake Arena will cap off a great day of racing for those who stay to watch a replay of that evening’s races while socializing with friends.  For more info, visit the new Cedar Lake Speedway and Arena website at www.cedarlakespeedway.com or www.cedarlakearena.com.
