Waelti looks for second Indoor victory at CLS Arena

New Richmond, Wis., Feb.5---Previous winner Brandon Waelti leads the group of recent entries for “Sasquatch Indoor Nationals presented by Jack Link's Beef Jerky” at the Cedar Lake Speedway Arena. The two-day event at the indoor quarter-mile dirt oval on March 9-10 will be the season opener for the the Stark Automotive Group/Mid-State Equipment Badger Midget Series. Also competing in the event will be Badger 600 Micros and Legends Cars. Waelti won the March 29, 2008 feature at the track, and will drive the Huston Solution racing owned Stealth/Ford-Esslinger No. 51.
DSR Motorsports has filed two entries for David Gough and five-time IRA Sprint Car series Champion Billy Balog. Gough, set fast time in qualifying for the 2008 event, qualifications will not be held for this year's events, with passing points determining feature starting positions. Balog won eighteen of the twenty-eight IRA feature events run in 2012, has previous victories at the outdoor 3/8-mile track adjacent to the building.
Other entries include: Defending Lucas Oil POWRi National Midget Champion Andrew Felker. Felker finished second to Tony Stewart in the December Indoor event at DuQuoin, Ill. and made the starting feature for the recent Chili Bowl. North Dakota Modified drive Andee Beierle will drive the second Felker Racing No. 11 Spike/Fontana.
An optional practice night is scheduled for Friday night, March 8. Saturday Night March 9 racing will kickoff at 5 p.m., with Sunday afternoon’s racing events starting at 1 p.m. Saturday’s event will pay $2,000 to win, with Sunday’s winning capturing $2,500, with a $1,000 bonus to any driver winning both features.
