Cedar Lake Speedway is excited to announce our second annual Triple Crown event, which will take place on Saturday, June 1st and feature a trio of high flying divisions that fans will not want to miss.

The NASCAR Super Late Models will compete in a $3,000 to win / $300 to start program, which should see some of the top talent in the upper Midwest converge on Cedar Lake’s high banks for one of the largest paydays of the season for the NASCAR Late Models. Cedar Lake is the home to many of the top Midwestern Late Model pilots and this event will allow them to showcase their talents for a larger than normal payday.

The 410 IRA Outlaw Sprint Cars will invade CLS for the first time in 2013, also gunning for a $3,000 to prize. The IRA Sprints typically visit Cedar Lake twice each season and this early June event always is a great one. Will fans be treated to a new track record, now that corners three and four have been revamped? Cedar Lake’s current Sprint Car track record has stood for over 8 years at a 10.757sec lap.

And, the NASCAR Open Wheel Modifieds will also compete in what was scheduled to be a $3,000 to win, $300 to start event, but with sponsorship from Duluth, MN based Como Oil & Propane, the Modifieds will be competing for a whopping $5,000 to win at the Triple Crown. Cedar Lake has been known to have hosted many large scale Modified events during its 55 year history, but this one should be near the top with many drivers clamoring for the chance at a $5,000 payday!

Cedar Lake Speedway would like to thank Joe from Como Oil for stepping up and coming on board to enhance the Triple Crown event and for all their support of dirt track auto racing in the area.

Fans should easily see over 100 cars in these three top divisions competing for nearly $50,000 in purse monies, which is one of the largest single day events anywhere in the upper Midwest.
