Cedar Lake Speedway Releases 2015 Event Schedule with a TON of Excitement!

For Immediate Release- Cedar Lake Speedway is excited to announce its best schedule yet as the 2015 season will bring many exciting new events.  First, for the 8th consecutive year Cedar Lake Speedway will again bring weekly NASCAR racing to the area.  However, the stakes have been raised as CLS presents its first ever NASCAR DASH where Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Midwest Modififieds will race just 6 events (2 in June, 2 in July, 2 in August) competing for over $160,000 in prize money.  See below for additional details.  Next, CLS is excited to present the inaugural Weekend of Winged Warriors as the 2015 schedule presents 2 nights in row of World of Outlaw Sprint Cars on Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th.  Adding UMSS 360 Sprints and Traditional sprint cars on Friday, July 10th and Saturday, July 11th will make this one weekend open wheel fans won’t want to miss by camping and enjoying some awesome racing.  Finally, the track will continue its tradition of huge special events and weekly racing featuring Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Midwest Modifieds and Hornets all summer long.    
 
The 2015 season will kick off on Thursday, April 2nd with open practice for drivers looking to get a few laps in before a double-header Friday and Saturday featuring Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Mid-Mods & Hornets.  Complete racing programs for all 5 classes is on tap the next three Saturdays.  Cedar Lake’s first sprint car special event on May 2nd features the UMSS 360 Sprints along with Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks & Hornets.  The very next weekend is one of the track’s most exciting nights, School Bus Race Night.  This event has grown into one of the area’s must see events as local high schools support their bus as they battle other area schools for the title of fastest bus around.  This unique racing experience has full sized buses decorated in each school’s colors racing full speed around the track.  Fans can expect a little banging & bashing, a few rollovers and some great racing that night with Mid-Mods, Hornets & Vintage race cars.  A full night of racing on May 16th is also the rain date for the school bus race.  Looking for a cheap date?  Then don’t forget to make it to the track on Saturday May 23rd as grandstand admission is totally FREE!  Help us pack the track by bringing your friends, family & co-workers out for a night of racing.  Pack the track night is a great opportunity to introduce someone new to our sport and it won’t cost you a dime to get in.
 
Before we dive into June, Saturday, May 30th brings one of the best local events around with the 4th annual Triple Crown with a huge purse.  The event will again feature the IRA Outlaw 410 Sprint Cars along with Late Models & Modifieds each racing for $3,000 to win!  Fans can expect the absolute best local racing talent in the area to compete for a share of the huge purse on the high banks.  As we kick off June, the NASCAR DASH will present its first event on Saturday, June 6th.  All 5 divisions will race while the Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Midwest Modifieds will start their 6 race series with huge money on the line.  The weekly purse for the NASCAR DASH events has been raised and the point fund is unprecedented with Late Models paying $10,000 to win, Modifieds $6,000 to win; Pro Stocks, $3,500 to win, and MW Modifieds $2,500 to win.  The very next weekend (June 11th – 13th) brings the 17th annual Masters event.  It will again be the kickoff weekend for the UMP SummerNationals Hell Tour featuring the only multi-day event at one track on the tour.  The Masters brings a complete show of Modifieds, Pro Stocks, MW Modifieds, and Hornets on Thursday June 11th.  Friday and Saturday brings complete shows each night of UMP Late Models along with the now annual return of the USMTS Modifieds.  This event has become a must-see event with complete shows each night of some of the best drivers in the country.  Race #2 of the NASCAR DASH follows on June 20th.  The last weekend in June features our HUGE annual firework display and a complete program of Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, MW Modifieds, and Hornets on Saturday June 27th.  Do not miss our fireworks as they rival most community displays. 
 
July will come in with a bang as the 4th of July will be celebrated with some additional fireworks in the sky.  More importantly, fireworks will be on the track as the 7th Annual Night of Destruction brings Trailer races, spectator drags, mattress races, and Faster Pastor races!  Pro Stocks, Vintage Cars, and Hornets will round out the exciting event on the 4th of July.  For the first time ever, July 10th – 12th is an open wheel fan’s dream as the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars come to Cedar Lake for a 2 day event on Saturday and Sunday.  Each day showcases a $10,000 to win night.  Friday will also present more great open wheel racing with UMSS 360 sprint cars, Traditional Sprint Cars, and Midwest Modifieds.   Don’t miss this inaugural event!
 
The next two weekends in July will bring additional excitement as the NASCAR DASH heats up with races #3 and #4 on July 18th and 25th.  The points on the line for each race increase so drivers will surely be stepping up the adrenaline and putting on some awesome racing. 
 
The 28th USA Nationals comes next as we welcome back the nation’s best Late Model drivers for another 3 days of action.  Cedar Lake Speedway is proud to host the World of Outlaw Late Models series crown jewel event again in 2015.  Thursday, July 30th includes a complete show of World of Outlaw Late Models as well as Midwest Modifieds.  Friday July 31st features World of Outlaw Late Model qualifying, heats & dash along with a complete show of local Late Models.  The final night, Saturday August 1st includes consolation races, dash and the 100 lap $50,000 to win main event along with another complete program for local late models.
 
August 15th and 22nd present the final two NASCAR DASH events as we crown champions of this new exciting series.  The last race will pay more than twice the number of points as the first race so expect a ton of excitement at these final two races as huge point fund money is on the line.
 
The last Saturday in August will again honor the founders of Cedar Lake Speedway (Elmer and Lorainne Cook) as well as our great fans, sponsors, and competitors as we provide free Corn on the cob to all attendees.
 
As the year winds down September includes the 15th Annual Jerry Richert Memorial race on Saturday, September 12th celebrating the life & legacy of Hall of Fame Sprint Car driver Jerry Richert featuring IRA 410 Sprint Cars, UMSS 360 Sprints, and traditional sprint cars.  The final multi-day event begins Thursday, September 16th as Cedar Lake Speedway presents the 10th annual Legendary 100.  This three day event is all about racing, tons of cars, several races and a monster purse.  The final event of 2015 will be the $10,000 to-win enduro scheduled for Saturday, September 26th.
 
Cedar Lake will celebrate all of this excitement and thank everyone that makes it happen with an awards banquet in the Cedar Lake Arena on Saturday, October 24th.
