2012 marks the fourth year Cedar Lake Speedway has flown the NASCAR banner. Since switching to NASCAR Cedar Lake Speedway has boasted the largest individual track point fund in the Midwest as well as place many drivers into the national spotlight earning even more cash along with notoriety at NASCAR banquets. This year Cedar Lake Speedway is proud to again offer a huge point fund totaling more than $23,000! This year’s point fund will pay 20 spots rather than 10 spots as in the past. This gives more drivers the opportunity to earn a portion of the purse. Below is the guaranteed purse for 2012 however if car counts are healthy and the weather cooperates this year’s purse can grow.

Further, in order to give our loyal racers an opportunity to earn as many points as possible Cedar Lake Speedway will require that all competitors in the Late Model, Modified, Super Stock & Midwest Modified divisions purchase NASCAR licenses. Each driver will earn the maximum points available during feature events along with over $1,000,000 of liability coverage in the event of an injury while at the track. Same as in the past, Cedar Lake Speedway will purchase licenses for three of each driver’s pit crew. NASCAR licenses in the Late Model division are $190 and in the other 3 division they are $95. Opening weekend is a NASCAR sanctioned event and licenses will be available during the event. For opener weekend only, drivers do not need a license but will only earn points for the weekend if they have purchased one. Throughout the season Cedar Lake Speedway has scheduled non-sanctioned race events and no NASCAR points will be awarded during those events. You can identify NASCAR point nights on our schedule as they are listed NASCAR Racing. Temporary licenses are available for competitors choosing to race at Cedar Lake Speedway for single events.
