Cedar Lake Speedway Releases 2017 Event Schedule with the largest paying Modified event in the Nation!

For Immediate Release- Cedar Lake Speedway is excited to announce its 2017 outdoor event schedule.  Highlighting the release is a revamping of the 19th Annual MASTERS event that will bring a $50,000 to win Modified show.   Mirroring the USA Nationals $50,000 to win Late Model show in August, the June event presents a $3,000 to win USMTS complete show on Thursday, heats and dash on Friday and the main events on Saturday.  Cedar Lake will award a Modified driver a larger check than has ever been handed out in history.  Tickets and camping are on sale now at www.cedarlakespeedway.com.  Don’t wait as good seats and campsites are sure to go fast. 

 

In addition to the new MASTERS event, the 2017 schedule brings a ton of other exciting races. For the 10th consecutive year, Cedar Lake Speedway will again be NASCAR sanctioned and will present the 3rd Annual NASCAR DASH where Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and Midwest Modifieds will race 6 events competing for over $150,000 in prize money.  The 2017 schedule also boasts the 3rd Annual Sprint Car Showdown featuring a two-day World of Outlaw Sprint Car race as the Winged Warriors invade Cedar Lake Speedway on Friday, July 7th and Saturday, July 8th.  Also new this year, Cedar Lake is excited to welcome the USRA Late Models to the Legendary Speedway.  The series is primed to keep Late Model racing strong in the area and Cedar Lake is proud to have the series join us on 8 different nights.    

 

The 2017 season will kick off on Thursday, April 6th with open practice for drivers looking to get a few laps in before a double-header Friday and Saturday featuring Late Models, Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Midwest-Modifieds & Traditional Sprint Cars.  Complete racing programs for 5 classes is on tap the next three Saturdays with the USRA Late Models making their first appearance on Saturday, April 22nd.  Cedar Lake’s first sprint car special event on May 6th features the UMSS 360 Sprints along with Modifieds, Pro Stocks, and USRA Late Models.  The very next weekend, Saturday, May 13th is one of the track’s most exciting nights, School Bus Race Night.  This event has grown into one of the area’s must see events as local high schools support their bus as they battle other area schools for the title of fastest bus around.  This unique racing experience has full sized buses decorated in each school’s colors racing full speed around the track.  Fans can expect a little banging & bashing, a few rollovers, and some great racing that night with USRA Late Models and UMSS Traditional Sprint Cars.  A full night of racing on May 20th is also the rain date for the school bus race. 

 

Looking for a cheap date?  Then don’t forget to make it to the track on Saturday May 27th as grandstand admission is totally FREE!  Help us pack the track by bringing your friends, family & co-workers out for a night of racing.  Pack the track night is a great opportunity to introduce someone new to our sport and it won’t cost you a dime to get in.

 

June kicks off in full gear with the first two NASCAR Dash events on June 3rd and June 10th.  This year’s Dash features an even larger weekly purse while the annual point fund is still the largest of any track in the area.  The very next weekend (June 15th – 17th) brings the highly anticipated $50,000 to win Modified show during the 19th annual MASTERS event.  Thursday, June 15th is a complete $3,000 to win USMTS Modified event followed by heats and dash on Friday and last change qualifiers, C main, B main, and the 70 lap, $50,000 to win Open Modiied show on Saturday.  Race #3 of the NASCAR DASH follows on June 24th. 

 

July starts with a bang with our HUGE annual firework display and a complete program of Pro Stocks, MW Modifieds, Traditional Sprint Cars, and USRA Late Models on Saturday July 1st.  Do not miss our fireworks as they rival most community displays.  For the 3rd consecutive year, July 7th and 8th is an open wheel fan’s dream as the World of Outlaw Sprint Cars come to Cedar Lake for a 2 day event on Friday and Saturday.  Tickets and camping are on sale now at www.cedarlakespeedway.com.  Each day showcases a complete race program as well as UMSS 360 sprint cars on Friday and Traditional Sprint Cars on Saturday.  The next two weekends in July will bring additional excitement as the NASCAR DASH heats up with races #4 and #5 on July 15th and 22nd.  The points on the line for each race increase so drivers will surely be stepping up the adrenaline and putting on some awesome racing.  July wraps up with the Eric Herbison memorial featuring $2,000 to win Midwest Modifieds along with Super Stocks, Traditional Sprint Cars and USRA Late Models. 

 

The 30th USA Nationals comes next as we welcome back the nation’s best Late Model drivers for another 3 days of action.  Cedar Lake Speedway is proud to host the World of Outlaw Late Models series crown jewel event again in 2017.  Thursday, August 3rd includes a complete show of World of Outlaw Late Models paying $6,000 to win as well as USRA Late Models.  Friday August 4th features World of Outlaw Late Model qualifying, heats & dash along with a complete show of local Late Models.  The final night, Saturday August 5th includes consolation races, last chance races, and the 100 lap $50,000 to win main event along with another complete program for local late models.

 

The annual Eve of Destruction follows the huge USA Nationals on August 12th with lots of great stunts and entertainment.  Better yet, the first 1,000 fans get a FREE Tshirt.  August 19th brings the grand finale for the NASCAR DASH events as we crown champions of this exciting series.  The last race will pay more than twice the number of points as the first race so expect a ton of excitement at this final Dash Race as huge point fund money is on the line.

 

The last Saturday in August will again honor the founders of Cedar Lake Speedway (Elmer and Lorainne Cook) as well as our great fans, sponsors, and competitors as we provide free Corn on the cob to all attendees.

 

As the year winds down September includes the 17th Annual Jerry Richert Memorial race on Saturday, September 9th celebrating the life & legacy of Hall of Fame Sprint Car driver Jerry Richert featuring IRA 410 Sprint Cars, UMSS 360 Sprints, and Traditional sprint cars.  The final multi-day event begins Thursday, September 14th as Cedar Lake Speedway presents the 12th annual Legendary 100.  This three day event is all about racing, tons of cars, several races and a monster purse.  The final race event of 2017 will be the $10,000 to-win enduro scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd.
